Book Cover, Front and Back

I self published my first novel,Clouded Crescent:Garrulous Goon through AuthorHouse UK in July 2007.Despite of ISBN allotments,POD has no demand and according to publisher only one copy was sold. After spending about $1500,I now feel that self-publishing is a bad proposition for any serious writer to pursue as it discourages the author to have new impetus to write further,as first failure to find any audience warns him/her for it.

AUTHOR HOUSE is a no no............
by: Anonymous

I published with AUTHOR HOUSE. I spent alot of money for printing and extra for rapid release, waterstones package and what not. They are just interested in making money off the new authors. I would advice any new author to not haste; if you feel confident in your material to continue looking for a publisher. This will give you peace of mind in the long run. If you publish through Author house your books WON'T sell; no matter where they try and insert.

Not only do these companies, like Author House, charge you for printing but they try and allure you into buying their other packages, like, rapid release, waterstones, marketing kit and what not. ALL THIS MEANS NOTHING, PLEASE.

Take my advice; do not publish in a haste. Just keep researching into a good publisher who will pay you for writing. The time you spend in searching for a publisher will pay you in the long run.

stop your belly aching

Come on, this is hard work. It's also about networking. I suggest you build one. Why do you think just because you had a bad experience that it's bad for everyone? If you ate at a resturant and had a bad meal, would you stop eating?
