eBook Cover Specialist
I am a digital imaging artist; my canvas is my computer monitor. My tools are Photoshop CS3, a Wacom pen tablet and Auto FX filters.
The materials I work with are royalty free images, purchased from several stock image web sites and/or personal photographs that my clients furnish me with.
In addition to creating cover designs for eBooks I also create cover art for printed books (price for print is project dependent). I charge a very low fee for eBook cover art because I feel that independent authors deserve a break when trying to get started in the world of publishing.
(Visit The Shared Self Publishing Experience's
eBook section.)
I know how difficult it is to get published in print and I have published a couple of eBooks myself.
My education and background include The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division and experience in creating many eBook covers which can be seen at Smashwords, Lulu and Amazon Kindle eBooks.
How I work: I obtain two or more images and combine them in an artful way to convey the concept of the book. Then I add the title, subtitle (if any), author’s name and anything else the author deems necessary.
The authors have a lot of input and may suggest any changes they would like to see as we progress toward a final cover that we both feel would boost the sales of their books. It is a collaborative effort.
I charge $35 for an eBook cover which includes up to $5 for the images I use.
If an author wants to use more images, or more expensive images, he/she is required to pay the difference.
