Just wanted the books in print

She Taught Me To Laugh Again and Men Bleed Too

Like many others, I worked long and hard putting my two manuscripts together. When I had a pretty good edited copy of my first book, I sent out hundreds of queries to agents. All of you know how that works. I received rejection after rejection. But I decided that I myself would not get depressed over that. Finally after several months, I received an offer from an agent that wanted to represent my work. WOW! I thought, I have finally hit pay dirt. So we worked together on the manuscript and submission letters and she began to search for a publisher. After nearly two years, we still had no luck in finding a publisher and the agent told me it was time to end the contract. So I was left with a pretty good manuscript, but it was still unpublished. A friend told me about iUniverse and I contacted them. I was very pleased with the professional staff at iUniverse and after about six more months of work that included two professional edits and cover design, we were ready to send it to the press. After that success story I started to write the sequel to the first book. Once again I went with iUniverse. To date both books have done pretty well. Oprah has not called me yet but I have had some respectable sales. The first book has gone as low as 90,000 on Amazon.com and the sequel as low as 34,000. I am please that I was able to get my books published. It was never about making money to me, I just wanted to be a published author.

Thanks for the comments so quickly on my page. I only put it up this morning and when I came home from my golf match, I read your comments. Yes I did get to write about two women that shared my life. I hope that the two books will help others who have to deal with death of a spouse and rebuilding a new relationship. As far as marketing goes, I have run the course that all authors do. I have posted stuff all over the internet. Here are a few links you might want to check out.

More!

Thomas, you leave us wanting more. If you're experiencing some success with Amazon, how are you pulling it off? How, in short, are you marketing the book. (Click here to add by commenting.)

I think it's just wonderful that you've honored the two loves of your life in this way. You set a high bar for the rest of us husbands!
