McAusland Studios Illustration
No-Leap Web Foot book cover by William McAusland
William McAusland illustrates from his home in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, with his wife and four children using both digital and traditional mediums, especially Photoshop, ink, pencil, acrylics. He has been illustrating for over 15 years producing book covers, children’s books, gaming products, health, education, financial and product illustrations, stock images, annual report covers, maps for golf courses and ski hills, cookie packages and software box covers.
Among my artistic influences are Kiff Holland, NC Wyeth, T.R. McPhee, The Group of Seven, Howard Pyle, Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Tom Lovell, James Gurney, Robert Genn, Bill Frymire, and The Brothers Hildebrandt.
Most of my clients hail from the United States and Europe and I am well equipped and experienced with conducting working relationships via phone, email and overnight courier.
I have worked for both large and small clients, including Scholastic, Wizards of the Coast, Zynga, and dozens of other publishers and self-published authors. The image I am showing, No-Leap Web Foot is for a self published book which has sold out on all four printings.
My rates vary according to image complexity, previous working relationship with repeat clients, rights purchased and whatnot. I work digitally these days so other than pencil and inked interior art, there is no original. I can produce a cover illustration for as little as $200 but on average I charge between $500 and $900. Quotes are free, of course, so drop me a line with your illustration ideas.
Check out McAusland Studios for a much more extensive and updated portfolio.
