My Mommy Wears Army Boot's

My Mommy Wears Army Boot's

Hi

I am a writer of Poetry, Children's Books and non-fiction for twenty years. And My Mommy Wears Army Boot's was my first book that I published, and while writing the book I experienced life lesson's. The first lesson was experiencing a War situation. The Persian Gulf war taught me to live, accept, and adjust to change whether I want to or not. During my Publishing process of the book I had a very dear friend that walked through the process with me, and the friend suddenly passed away. I was in total shock, and really didn't think I could go any further in my writing career and I accepted it. God helped me adjust to changes in life that I never thought I could accept and I drew closer to him asking him for guidanceand strenght to endure every day. I don't have alot of money, but my dream is to beleive and trust, and ask for the talents that were given to me to share with the world. Since the death of my friend I adjusted to change whether I wanted to or not. I am now soloing a Publishing career learning all aspects reading, networking and attending class. And God is placing me in a position of meeting the right people. The field of Publishing, has grown me up and make me tolerable to everything in life.

My books include issue's that weren't addressed when I was growing up as a child.

My books are unique because they handle issues's such as Divorce, Global Warming, Adoption, and Minding Our Manner's at School,Public Places and Church.

Congrats.! to you, Verna
by: Julie W. B.

Your story is very inspirational. I've a hard time adjusting to change, especially the older I get; I'm 65. I, too, am attempting to "put everything in God's hands," and "trust in Him." I self-published a fiction children's illustrated book: "Homer the Helicopter Grand Canyon Adventures," and am sure I hold the record for "The author who took the longest to get a book written & printed: 14 yrs!"

Verna, I'm curious that your children's book is priced at $16.13 for the printed version, and the download is @ $20.00. Is the download in eBook format? or?
I did my book as an eBook first before the printed version was available.

Congrats. on publishing books for the past 20 yrs. & best of luck!

Appreciating what motivates you
by: Steve B.

Verna, thanks for posting.

I can hear how earnest you are in your pursuit of a writing career. I have to say something though, because some things are important to hear.

I'm afraid your writing skills have a long way to go.

I'm looking right now at your Lulu book cover. It has an apostrophe that shouldn't be there. It's missing a colon that should be.

Your post, as well, suffers from strikingly poor punctuation!

Your desire to write, the events that have motivated you, your desire to spread a message...all are admirable. But (in my opinion) your writing skills aren't yet a match for all you want to express.

I would urge you strenuously to work on those skills before seriously considering publishing again. I have a strong hunch that, in the long run, you'll be glad you did.
