roll of the dice

Hard Justice
Genre: Suspense thriller
I started my writing on 9/14/01. Just after the WTC attacks I was rearended by another driver, which left me unable to do my work as a tree climber for a utility company.
The days were beset with chaos, and I recall President Bush telling us to do what we could to remain strong.
During that time of injury, writing was all I could do, so I started writing poetry.
Some years past and I did manage to find work as a route driver in the northeast. My calling to writing did not leave me, moreover my wife suggested that I write a book.
I thought about that advice and used my business education to figure out the best pitch to offer a publisher. I came up with writing a trilogy, that would lend itself to a screenplay adaptation.
At the outset of this project everything was written in pen to paper. For a Christmas Gift I received a laptop from my wife. Transcribing the work from my written draft to the computer allowed me better insights in completing the work.
I began seeking an agent for the work, and in doing so copyrighted the work at the outset. The agency I signed on with absolutely dropped the ball, and notified me after several inquiries that because of a hurricane's damage they would no longer be able to represent my work.
I finally decided to use authorhouse to publish my book. They did so in 06.
Since that time I had some personal setbacks and unfortunately, I am mired in debt, which prohibits applying funds to conventional marketing of the work.
During the publishing of the book a compromised deal gave me opportunity to take possession of 100 copies. These copies were sold to interested people as cash transfers for them applied. Others were sent to radio talk show hosts, book clubs, movie producers and the like.
I have reason to beleive that those who have read the work are sincere in their appreciation of the story... many are asking when the 2nd book will be published.
The one constant critique I hear is that the work could use editing.
One of the readers actually gave a hand written review of the book saying as much.
Another reason for me to be sure of sincere liking for the book is a 4% interest sold to readers of the copyright.
I guess after I hear one too many no's, I'll hear a yes.
