I received my first opportunity to design a book cover in 2008. I used Microsoft Word to design the book cover, published it in Adobe PDF, and then ran Adobe Distiller and Pre-Flight before submitting it to the publisher, BookSurge.

The training I received was through trial and error as there were no training classes available at that time (1981). Over seventy publications that I worked on were published or printed in house; reputable publishers include Elsevier, Scarecrow Press, Prentice Hall, Allyn & Bacon, and the AIChE and SPE Journal for the journal articles I have done. Over ten of the books and journal articles were hand-typed, and contained complex tables and equations. I have over 20 years experience in this field. My standard fee is $500; however, depending on the work involved this fee could be lower or higher. I am flexible on my fees, and I will work with you on reaching an agreement for the charges.
