The Days of Ups and Downs!

by Brenda Willliams
(Surprise, AZ USA)

A SPOT OF TEA...a concise gift book on...tea!

A SPOT OF TEA...a concise gift book on...tea!

At first I just didn't know where to begin. I had this idea about publishing a book, giving information on tea, where and how it is grown, Afternoon Tea, the difference between Afternoon Tea and High Tea and other tea information. Only because a lot of people kept saying they had been to High Tea, but in fact they had been to Afternoon Tea.

I attended a networking group where I met a lady who said she would help me - this she did and after many hours of editing and revising I had a copy in paper form. Then came the time to go to print and this is where it all went awry; patience is needed!

I met with several printers and either I didn't meet their criteria for printing, colors, or price because of low volume. Eventually I did connect with a printer and was doing quite well, I thought, and then she "upped and left" taking my file with her!

At last I am now fully settled and have all that is needed at the price I can afford.

Book as part of a broader effort
by: Steve B.

Brenda, thank you for your contribution. To be honest, I was struck first by your seeming nonchalance. Most of the authors I run into come of as a good deal more invested in their work!

But then I visited your delightful website. Now I understand that your book is but part of a larger effort, part of a much larger range of products (all relating to Afternoon Tea).

In this context the book makes perfect sense. It authenticates you, and it educates.

I feel visitors to this site would gain from reading not only your account but visiting your website to see how a book can fit into something broader. To my mind, a website devoted only to a book (or to a single author) is most often destined to be a lonely, rarely visited website.
