a return to the golden age of book illustration
For 15 years I have been a professional artist, and have recently decided that my skill set has gotten to the point that I would like to illustrate books, both interior and covers.
I am very disappointed in the fact that for the past decade book covers have become more and more stale, with digital art programs providing modeling and texture for artists, so that there is no originality in most of the covers I see.
As an avid reader of all genres, I see my work as being a return to the great oil painted illustrations of the past, where movement, color, and emotion dominate.
I'm pretty tired of boring photographic portrait work covers.
I try to bring a bit of romance, horror, and mystery to all of my work, both oil paint and ink drawings. I am available and interested in working in any genre. You can view more paintings at my blog,
